Last week I knew the X1 was in shape after changing props, but this week I got the numbers to back it up!

If you recall this vid:

The top speed was capped around 60+ KPH, even pushing a higher throttle the speed didn't go faster.

But check out today's vid! 130KPH and it looked like it could do more!

These were the props I used

ImpulseRC Alien vs Holybro Shuriken X1 preview, from www.gearbest.com

Meant to bring these 2 together for a rematch today, after last week's disadvantaged battle to the Shuriken X1 (crazy max throttle oscillations)

Thankfully, today I managed to fix the Shuriken X1!!
Turns out it was the props after all!

The HQProp 5x4x3 Durables v1 proved to be too flexible for the T-Motor F40 2206 2600kV Motors, and caused all sorts of problems which I initially thought was due to the tuning.
Today I swapped on the kingkong 5040x3 Props, and the issues were pretty much gone!
No more random pitch ups/etc.

These props are highly similar to the MrSteele HQProps which came with the X1, and you can find them here:

After a big round, I believe the X1 is finally flying close to her potential.

However..... the skies decided to end today's session early, and I only managed to get 1 pack out before the skies called it a day..

The Shuriken X1 was flying at ~60deg tilt while the Alien ~45deg tilt, and the difference in speed is obvious (not to mentioned I crashed the Alien..)
I usually time the 5th pack of each quad so that I have time to get used to the characteristics of that quad.

I also noticed that the Camera on Shuriken X1 made it easier for me to spot my blue coloured gates!

Satisfied Flight!

Had a blast today flying 3 different quads - the Aurora 100, Impulse RC Alien 5", and the Shuriken X1.

The Shuriken X1 is still giving me issues (a different one this time), and hopefully it will be solved with a set of new props. I will also look for a wider lens for it next week...

The Aurora 100 and ImpulseRC Alien 5" both brought a smile to my face today!
Aurora100 for surprising me with its lap timings, and the Alien for being such a badass quad even though I've neglected her for quite a few months now..

Do check out the vids from today!

Shuriken X1 Ripping! from www.gearbest.com

Another day, another track
PID tuning has improved the sudden pitch up issues I was facing last week, but still there is room for improvement.

Getting used to 60 deg tilt!

Aurora 100 REBORN

As mentioned in my review video, my Aurora 100 was pretty banged up.
The antennae had come apart, both rear arms had broke, but I was not prepared to give up on the Aurora 100 after experiencing what was possible with this quad!

Check out the video to see what was done to fix the quad!

Shuriken X1 + Garmin Edge = Awesome Telemetry!

Been wanting to do this for a long time now, but never got my lazy bum down to do it
Result is great! Was half wondering how well the Garmin would be able to track the quad's movements, and it turned out pretty well I guess =)

The Shuriken X1 can definitely go faster as you can see in my other vids, but.. Garmins.. don't.. come.. cheap... >.<

Shuriken X1 - Byebye Yaw Oscillations!

Thank you Philip Mark and Gm for setting up the course!!

After yesterday's success on the bench (no more oscillations at low/mid throttle), I was eager to bring the Shuriken X1 out to see if the problems were indeed solved.
What can I say.. YES!!!!! The oscillations I've become used to are gone!!!
Unfortunately my PIDs were whacked (they were from the previous settings when I was trying to solve the yaw oscillation issue) but now that the mysterious yaw oscillations are truly gone, I can concentrate on pushing this quad to its fullest potential! =)

If you have a Shuriken X1, I strongly suggest you to softmount your motors.

I used these rubber dampers

With 10mm Bolts (quad comes assembled with 6mm bolts)

Soft Mounted Motors - Does it work?

Hi guys! For those who have followed my channel, you'd know that I've been trying to fix some yaw oscillation issues with my Shuriken X1.

Initially I thought I fixed it with the loose camera lens element, and while that did solve most of the oscillation issues, I noticed that I still had some yaw oscillations especially at certain throttle levels.

With moriwaky's suggestion from RCGroups forums, and after how nothing else seemed to work, I decided to soft-mount the motors.
Apparently these T-Motor F40ii 2600kV motors were notoriously difficult to tune, and I was not the only one having issues with it (people had issues with it on other frames as well)

Do note that although I didn't show it in the video, I did test the motors individually, and all of them displayed the same symptoms at ~1260 throttle albeit at different intensities, so it's not 1 broken motor or something like that.

So does soft mounting work? check out the video to find out!

Been a while since I brought the GB-X210 out for a spin, and my dear friend set up a new course today!
Also flashed Betaflight 3.1.6 to try out the Anti-Gravity settings but I think my I term still needs a bit of tuning (either that or the  anti-gravity settings need to be changed), getting some bounceback at the end of rolls..

This quad never fails to impress! It was a pretty open track so even though I was trying to control the throttle, batteries still came down pretty hot after ~3minutes of flight.
